from static to motion 〰️

A form of design I am still working on improving would have to be motion graphics and animation. I find a certain level of brilliance within the complexity of work that incorporates taking still imagery and designing it in a way that creates a short movie or animated clip. Although Im quite novice at the skill I find a huge level of enjoyment working in programs such as Adobe After Effects as I believe there is so much a learn each time working with these softwares.

Popsicle anatomy Loop

This was an animation work made with Procreates animation features where I worked on creating a perfect look of a popsicle melting back into itself. Below you will find a video I made for my process of the creating this as it was really my first introduction to animation as a whole.

Process Video for my popsicle looping animation

To your right is a 3 minute process video on how I came about creating my Loop animation! You get a glimpse of my creative process and what my intention was when ideating this work

Scooby motion image

Whilst taking an introductory level course to motion graphic at Monroe Community College I began to explore creating motion from once static imagery giving a sense of life to a once still project. I hope in the future to continue this design work with other photos of my own to add more variety to my catalogue of photography

Day in the life animatic

This was a storyboard I made using Procreate and revamped with audio and also visual motion to portray the animatics seen before a movie is brought into its final rendition. This is a storyboard for a day in the life story of my dog Scooby who has his own featured work below.

Imaginary Logo motion

Beginning early on logo design I began to ideate something more connected to my nature loving personality with the face of my brand being an Otter which I consider my spirit animal in a way. To promote this early rendition of my logo I made an After Affects looks that was short and sweet and whilst it had its flaws I plan to remake this with my current more broad logo identity.

Imaginary Logo poster

This was a poster work displaying the static logo as well as the course the project was apart of, I do believe you cans till scan the QR code attached to get a real time animation of the poster using the artivive program.

Natural decay intro animation

For an After Effects project I chose to make an imaginary animation for an opening to a TV show using skills I learned throughout my first semester of Oswego

Natural decay animatic

To get an idea of my process of design for the beginning stages of the animation this is the storyboard with notes as well as starting audio which I used to complete my title video.

Word exploration animation

This is a simple exploration project taking a word and adding animation to portray what said word means to us personally. I chose the word skittish and wanted to add animation that gave that quick timid image of what I see when I hear the word.

Meet me, motion graphic

Being an assignment as the introduction animation to our motion graphics class at SUNY Oswego this assignment was an Adobe After Effects exploratory project working with animation, effects and type to create an introduction to the class of who we are and what our goals within the course are.
