My thought process for this political single panel illustration was to create a satirical drawing of a construction worker, bird watching amongst a vast sea of dead stumps of trees his crew chopped down. On the left side of the image the few birds left in the dead forest are staring at the man as he's oblivious to both the critically injured environment and creatures treating the forest as if it's perfectly fine and still thriving with life. This illustration tackles the effects of deforestation on the wildlife as chopping down entire forests hinders the ecosystem once flourishing in said location, stripping animals and plants of their homes, food and protection. The construction worker ignorantly bird watching in the vast graveyard of trees is there to represent the inconsiderate people in our current world that openly attack the environment with active deforestation or simple littering which they usually will deny and ignore as if their actions aren't showing a visible effect on the environment. Overall this piece is made to give those actively striving to better our environment a little chuckle as well as open the eyes of those who need a little more help seeing the picture they're painting with their recklessness.
